Rev. Bob Feist

Senior Pastor

Rev. Bob Feist was appointed to serve as Senior Pastor of Christ Church effective June 1, 2006 following the retirement of Dr. Robert Pierson.   Prior to his appointment to Christ Church, he served as the founding pastor of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City for 13 years.   During his tenure the church grew to become one of the larger membership churches in the Oklahoma Conference.       

Rev. Feist was awarded the Denman Award for Evangelism by the Oklahoma Annual Conference in 2000 and currently serves as the Chair of the Evangelism Committee of the Annual Conference Discipleship Ministry Team.

He earned his bachelors degree in Business Administration from Oral Roberts University in 1982, then served on the staff of First United Methodist of Oklahoma City as Business Administrator from 1982 until 1985.  He then attended Philips Theological Seminary in Enid while serving as Youth Director at FUMC until 1987.

He married Kathy Murray of Tulsa, Oklahoma at her home church, First United Methodist, Tulsa in June of 1985.  They have three daughters:  Jennifer, 18; Rachel, 16; and Sarah, 13.  

In 1997 Bob and Kathy moved to Wilmore, Kentucky where he earned his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1990.   While there, Jennifer was born in 1989 in Lexington, Kentucky.

From 1990 to 1993, Bob was appointed associate pastor at FUMC, Altus, Oklahoma.  While there, Rachel was born in 1991 in Lawton, Oklahoma. 

The appointment to start St. Andrew’s in 1993 was the beginning of an exciting church planting experience.   Sarah was born in 1994.   Bob had the privilege of launching this new congregation and shepherding it through its phenomenal growth.   In 13 years he led the congregation through 3 capital building campaigns and 40,000 sq foot of completed facilities including a Worship Center and Christian Life Center.   In addition to facilities growth, Bob oversaw the significant expansion of the St. Andrew’s staff.   

Bob grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball and continues an active interest in sports.   He likes to exercise and get outdoors as often as he can.   Much of his spare time involves keeping up with the children and their activities.  The family enjoys going snow skiing, water skiing and other outdoor activities together.
